Smart TV is a Smart TV is a new technological concept in TV that is set to take over the market
in the very near future, and it's no wonder that many people want to know what is Smart TV and what its distinctive
features are.
Smart TV is designed with the tech savvy consumers in mind; it integrates tv broadcasts, the
internet as well as digital contents seamlessly. Simply put, Smart TV allows you to surf the internet, search any
contents, stay connected on social media and enjoy a wonderful world of apps - all from the same source! Smart TV
certainly redefines the horizons of television that we know right now.
Smart TV has everything all there for you. Your Smart TV has an interface from which you can
watch your normal TV channels, access your emails, social websites like Facebook or YouTube, and the rest of the
world wide web. It gives a more cinematic experience when surfing the web and has a better definition than current
HD television sets.
What Is Smart TV Platforms And Which One To Choose?
Most of the large electrical brands are catching onto this trend and there is already a fairly
wide choice of Smart TV to choose from on today's market.
The LG Netcast is one of these; it has some great features including pre-installed apps and the
LG TV App Store where you can purchase further apps. It also has a Smart Share.
The Samsung Smart TV Series offer much better resolution than a standard HD television set and
has great picture capture. It has a Freeview HD Tuner and Theatre Surround Sound System; you can also store and
view your photo collection.
There is also the Panasonic Viera Cast, Phillip Net TV and Sharp Aquos Net + which offer a great
viewing that is easy to use. These vary in prices and the top of the range models are generally going for about
$2000 onwards.
What Is Smart TV Upgraders?
Instead of purchasing a Smart TV there is also Smart TV upgraders or set top box that you can
consider as an alternative. These are similar to that of a freeview or cable TV box and give you the same benefits
but will need to be connected via a cable. This gives you the Smart TV interfaces but not necessarily the high
definition standard of the new Smart TV on the market.
One to watch out for here is the up and coming Boxee system; this is a cross platform freeware
Home Theatre Software application. Released in 2010 this sleek high gloss black cube allows you to access the
internet with interface application system. Boxee doesn't allow you to watch or record live TV via cable or
satellite signals, however it is still in the early development stages and has only recently been released on the
public market.
LG, Samsung and Sanyo also offer a range of Smart TV Upgraders and these start on the market
from around $90 and upwards. There's so much to learn about what is Smart TV and the evolving technology is sure to
keep everyone excited as it unfolds.
